22 imagesLily Gladd and her family celebrate a very special 8th Birthday. Lily has an extremely rare genetic condition known as Pontocerebellar hypoplasia with S.C.A.D.D, (Short Chain Acyl-Coa Dehydrogenase Deficiency). In 2012 there were only 100 cases identified worldwide of this condition. This disorder is thought to affect approximately 1 in 40,000 to 100,000 newborns. Once given this diagnosis as an infant, Doctors gave Lily a Prognosis of not living past the age of 7. Lily's incredibly loving and devoted parents Ian and Bernadette Gladd, along with her Special Educator Chet Sewell and Home Healthcare Nurses, have ensured that Lily is thriving today.
